First American CU Expands Training To Include Self-Defense Program

BELOIT, Wis. -- First American Credit Union is empowering its staff through job-specific training as well as personal training.

With women representing over half of professionals in the banking and credit union industries, the credit union has expanded its training programs to include self-defense lessons.

Representatives from the Janesville Police Department held the credit union's first self-defense class on April 8. The class, consisting of 14 women, took their defensive shots at the padded officers.

"The self-defense class was excellent. We're lucky to work for an organization that looks out for our well-being outside of the office as well as while we're at work," said staffer Renea Perez. First American CU also handed out pepper spray to attendees.
