WASHINGTON — NCUA Board Chairman JoAnn Johnson will join other federal regulators April 15 in reviewing for the House Financial Services Committee the progress, or lack thereof, in helping Americans become more financially literate.
|The hearing, titled Financial Literacy and Education: The Effectiveness of Governmental and Private Sector Initiatives, will get underway at 10 a.m. The committee has not yet released the names of other witnesses.
|Chairman Johnson has not released her testimony, but credit unions, with NCUA's encouragement, have long made the financial education of members and students one of their chief goals.
