NFCC Launches 2008 National Financial Literacy Poster Contest

SILVER SPRING, Md. -- The National Foundation for Credit Counseling is once again sponsoring the BE MONEY WI$E National Poster Contest.

Designed to get students thinking about how to manage money effectively, the contest--which features three grade categories of elementary, middle and high school--also offers a creative outlet for students to express their knowledge.

This year's theme is "Financial Responsibility Begins with Me." The national winner will be selected based on the expression of the theme, artistic style, and creativity.

All National Financial Literacy Poster Contest entries must be submitted to an NFCC member agency for judging. The submission deadline for poster entries will be in early March 2008. Each participating NFCC member agency submits its local winners into competition for one national award per grade category. The national winner is chosen from the three grade category winners.

This individual will be flown to Washington, D.C. with a parent and presented with the national award as well as a $500 U.S. savings bond during Financial Literacy Month in April.
