Anoka Hennepin CU, Anoka County FCU Merge

COON RAPIDS, Minn. -- It is finally official--Anoka Hennepin Credit Union and Anoka County Federal Credit Union have merged.

"While we continue with the Anoka Hennepin Credit Union name, we begin 2008 as one, new organization," said Jeff Claussen, AHCU president/CEO. "This merger is an opportunity to take a strong step forward for the benefit of our fields of membership."

As a merged organization, the credit union now offers seven locations with an eighth additional stand-alone branch slated to open in St. Francis this spring.

"Coming together has allowed us to enhance products we wouldn't have previously been able to offer," said Claussen. "This was a merger for all the right reasons: being able to do more for the membership and offering more opportunities to our communities."

AHCU is now over $160 million in assets serving 22,000 members.
