COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Air Academy Federal Credit Union wants to show that membership truly has its rewards with the unveiling of the MAX Checking.
With free MAX Checking from Air Academy FCU members with balances between one penny and $50,000 can earn 6.01% Annual Percentage Yield plus get refunds on ATMs fees up to $25 per cycle (limited to $4.99 per item). MAX Checking accounts with balances over $50,000 enjoy the rewards too with 6.01% APY up to $50,000 and 1.01% on everything over $50,000.
“We are excited about introducing MAX Checking into the market through our partnership with BancVue,” says Karin Kovalovsky, vice president marketing for Air Academy FCU. “We want our members to have the best products and services available to them.
MAX Checking is a totally free checking account that rewards members when they do things that improve the efficiency of the credit union. To receive the high interest and the ATM fee refunds, MAX Checking account holders must make at least 12 check card transactions, receive electronic statement via secure email notification and make one direct deposit or one ACH auto debit.
“By using free services such as online banking, emailed statements and debit cards instead of checks, members save us money by making us more efficient. With MAX Checking, we are rewarding that behavior,” said Kovalvsky.
MAX Checking accountholders that don't meet all the requirements during the statement cycle, will still enjoy a free checking account with free Internet banking and free online bill pay, but will not receive the MAX rate of interest or ATM refunds for that time period. However, the account holder will still earn 0.25% APY on their free checking balance.
