BETHESDA, Md. — Starting in mid-summer, Allpoint cardholders traveling for pleasure or business in the United Kingdom will be able to get surcharge-free access to money from ATMs just as they would be able to at home.

Allpoint Network, the selective surcharge ATM network which provides fee-free ATM access to cardholders while charging participating financial institutions, says its service will be available in the United Kingdom as of the middle of 2007.

The surcharge-free network is a division of Cardtronics, a leading independent ATM deployer. The expansion is coming about through the addition of Bank Machine, also a subsidiary of Cardtronics, the network said. It began moving the Allpoint brand onto Bank Machine ATMs at the beginning of the year and expects to have all 1,400 Bank Machine ATMs available to Allpoint cardholders by the middle of the year.
