Fillwock Retires After Leading Option 1 CU for 20 Years

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- After working in the credit union industry for more than 30 years and leading Option 1 Credit Union--formerly called Financial Health Credit Union--since 1986, Jo Anne Fillwock has retired this month.

Fillwock also stepped down as NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council Chairman due to her retirement.

Mendell Thompson, president/CEO of America's Christian Credit Union, the Council's chair-elect, assumed the role of chairman effective Dec. 12.

Fillwock is one of the longest sitting NASCUS Credit Union Advisory Council Board members and has served on it since 1996.

NASCUS President/CEO Mary Martha Fortney said Fillwock "has been such an integral part of NASCUS' growth over the years. Her passionate advocacy for dual chartering and the viability of the state charter has been a source of tremendous leadership for this organization. She will be missed."

Andy List, former president of Bell Com Credit Union, Grand Rapids, Mich., was named the new president of Option 1 CU. He was previously the president of Bellcom Credit Union, which merged with the former Financial Health CU on Oct. 1.
