MADISON, Wis. — The Filene Research Institute has found inDenise R. Gabel, a chief innovation officer. In this role Gabelwill lead the Institute's innovation agenda including the Filene i3group. A 17-year credit union industry veteran, Gabel formerlyserved as vice president of strategic direction for SpokaneTeachers Credit Union. An inaugural member of the Filene ResearchInstitute's national i3 group spearheading change in the creditunion industry, she is a suma cum laude graduate from EasternWashington University and a 1995 high honors graduate of WesternCUNA Management School. A certified trainer for the Institute ofFinancial Education, Gabel is also a popular presenter withProfessional Credit Union Women, the Spokane Chapter of CUs andCUNA's Center for Professional Development.
