Community 1st CU Taps Terry Maloy As New CEO

OTTUMWA, Iowa - Terry Maloy has been named the new president/CEO of Community 1st Credit Union.

Maloy has more than 30 years of experience in marketing and operations and has been with the $170 million CU since 2004 as its vice president of strategic planning. He was instrumental in three credit union mergers, the building of a new branch and leading the effort in the name change and re-branding from "Deere Community Credit Union" to "Community 1st Credit Union," the CU said.

"Community 1st Credit Union has a rich history and tradition for the past 70 years of providing quality financial service to its members," Maloy said. "I am honored and excited for this opportunity to represent the credit union staff and membership as its CEO/President."

Additionally, Eldon Synder has been named CFO/executive vice president of the credit union. He has served as the senior vice president since 2002 and prior to that, worked for 18 years at the University of Iowa Community Credit Union as senior vice president of retail lending.

Founded in 1936, Community 1st serves nearly 42,000 members.
