BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Credit union data processor EPL has hiredformer CUNA Mutual Group Chief of Sales and Marketing Jim Gowan asexecutive vice president of sales. Gowan reunites with anotherformer CUNA Mutual exec, Wayne Benson, who serves as EPL'spresident. “We are focused on growing, and bringing on a seasonedsales executive who knows the credit union industry like Jim doeswill really help us,” said Benson. Gowan will work from Madison,Wis. Benson said he likes having sales people out in the field, andMadison is a key location given EPL's relationship with CUNAStrategic Services. “Credit unions have long been tied to systemsthat fail to completely meet their needs and this is where EPL'sopen architecture will alleviate those credit unions' challenges.The first-rate leadership team Wayne has put together combined withthe commitment of the whole organization assures an effectivemission to meeting EPL's clients' needs,” said Gowan EPL is ownedby eight credit unions and the Alabama CU League. Benson said hewill soon be seeking additional owners.
