Marv Umholtz (left), infamous in the CU industry for his work with the Coalition for Credit Union Charter Options, and Jim Blaine, CEO of State Employees' CU of N.C., a dedicated credit union purist who is one of the founders to a group that is the polar opposite of Umholtz's. Blaine's group is known as the National Center for Member Trust. The two got together at Credit Union Times' CEO of the Year reception at CUNA's GAC, where Blaine was honored as this year's winner.
