NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - South Carolina Federal Credit Union has made its Hurricane Katrina Disaster Relief fund a community effort. The credit union has donated $19,592 to help with Katrina relief efforts. Students from James Elementary School were anxious to make their donation in person and in pennies to a local branch and watched as the automated counter added up their donation - a total of $255. Students from Midland Park Elementary School raised another $432. "It is good to know that our members and our community are always there, to help those in need, " said Scott Woods, S.C.
