SAN DIEGO – When it comes to raising money for a good cause, Financial 21 Community Credit Union is always ready to step in. The credit union recently raised $11, 500 for the local Children's Hospital here during its Miracle Month campaign. In addition to selling campaign balloons, Financial 21 branches developed special events to promote the fundraiser. A tour of Children's Hospital was conducted for Financial 21 staffers to enable them to share with members the importance of supporting the fundraiser. Financial 21 CCU is a member of Credit Union's For Kids, which consists of local San Diego credit unions that meet monthly developing strategies to raise money for Children's Hospital. Overall, CUFK has contributed $160,000 to Children's Hospital and Health Center. Financial 21 CCU has also co-sponsored a walk for the Scleroderma Foundation in a show of support for a member diagnosed with the progressive auto-immune disease. The credit union branches pledged donations and walked 3.3 miles together.
