WASHINGTON – Twelve more federal legislators have signed on to support CURIA as of June 13, 2005. Counting Congressman Ed Royce (R-Calif.), the originator of the bill, that brings the total supporters to 51. The five Democrats are Corrine Brown (Florida), Bob Filner (California), John Larson (Connecticut), Diane Watson (California), and Lyn Woolsey (California). The newest seven Republicans are Ken Calvert (California), Darrell Issa, (California), George Miller (California), Dana Rohrabacher (California) Jeff Miller (Florida), Rob Simmons (Connecticut) and David Camp (Michigan). Credit union lobbyists from both CUNA and NAFCU expect that support will continue to build for the legislation in the coming weeks. -
