DETROIT – Michigan First Credit Union has broken ground on a newthree-story, 60,000 square-foot headquarters building to be locatedin Lathrup Village, Michigan. “With this groundbreaking, we areexcited to help revitalize a corner of the thriving city of LathrupVillage,” said Michigan First CU President/CEO Michael D. Poulos.“Now that the small, aging strip mall has been removed, it iseasier to imagine our incredible new building rising as the gatewayinto the city. We're looking forward to being an active part of theLathrup Village community.” Designed by architectural firm VictorSaroki & Associates and slated to be built by RonnischConstruction Group, the facility will include a full servicein-lobby branch with 12 drive-thru lanes, four drive-thru ATMs, andfour state-of-the-art electronic banking centers. The lobby willalso feature a 60-foot ceiling with exterior glass curtain wallsallowing natural light to flood the interior. The lobby will alsocontain a custom built-in that will display the history and timeline of Michigan First CU. In addition 4,200 square-feet of tenantspace will be dedicated to a restaurant. The facility will alsohouse a large community room, which will be made available to allmembers, the local community, and the public in general with thecapacity to accommodate catering services.
