St. Vrain Valley Credit Union, Longmont, Colo., has recentlycelebrated its 50th Anniversary. For the past 50 years the creditunion has continually expanded its services based on members'needs. Today the St. Vrain Valley CU has over $60 million in assetsand operates out of a 6,500 square-foot facility. To celebrate thismilestone anniversary and show appreciation to its loyalmembership, St. Vrain Valley CU hosted a 50's themed bash completewith staffers dressed in their best 50's attire. SpringfieldTeacher's Credit Union, Mass., has recently celebrated its 75thanniversary. Established at a time when everyone was feeling theeffects of Black Thursday and the crash of the New York StockExchange, the credit union survived and has grown to over $95million in assets and serves over 11,000 members. Earthmover CreditUnion, Aurora, Ill., has celebrated the 15th year anniversary ofLending Manger Todd Westmoreland. To honor Westmoreland for hismany years of dedicated service, President/CEO Warren Schumacherand Executive Vice President Libby Calderone presented him with acongratulatory certificate and staff celebrated with a cake. Sincehis start date, Westmoreland has played an important role in theadvancement and growth at Earthmover CU. Merced School EmployeesFederal Credit Union, Calif., has reached a milestone of 50 yearsof service. In 1954, seven educators came together and formed afinancial cooperative aimed at helping school employees save moneyby borrowing from each other at affordable rates. 50 years later,with four branches, over $285 million in assets and serving over32,500 members, MSEFCU has come a long way from its humblebeginnings. North Carolina Credit Union League, Greensboro, hasannounced that credit unions here have one silver anniversary andthree golden anniversary milestones to recognize this year.Celebrating 50 years of service are East Coast Community CU;Greensboro Health Care CU and North State Telco CU. Ringing in 25years of service is TOP CU. Northwest Corporate Credit Union,Portland, Ore., Vice President of Human Resources Cathy Lawpaughhas celebrated her 25th anniversary. Lawpaugh has an extensivehistory with Northwest Corporate since she started her employmentback on January 3, 1980, as a clerk for Oregon Corporate CentralCU. Today Lawpaugh oversees not only the human resource department,but facilities, administration, and coordinates the NorthwestCorporate University, where she shares her knowledge and belief inthe credit union movement with the staff.
