AUSTIN, Texas - The fledgling Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association has added a big name to its growing list of affiliate members - CUNA Mutual Group. The industry support group was formed late last year and has been having a series of meetings around the country bringing credit union IT security professionals together to share mutual ideas and concerns. The CUISPA has attracted leadership and affiliations from more than 60 individual credit unions, organizations and vendors so far, including from such well-known names as Orange County Teachers FCU, SecureWorks, Corporate One and WesCorp. CUNA Mutual's David Meunier, vice president and chief information security officer, will be a member of the CUISPA Board. "IT Security cannot be singularly enforced. Everyone must be involved, and together we are stronger as a unit than as secure islands," Meunier said. Kelly Dowell, the Austin-based group's founding executive director, said, "By banding together, credit union IT security managers are developing a valuable resource of individuals and organizations that are sharing a broad range of experience for the common goal of improving IT management throughout the industry."
