NAFCU Annual Conference Chock Full of Various CU Necessities
ARLINGTON, Va.-The agenda for NAFCU's 37th Annual Conference and Exhibition slated for July 14-17 in Vancouver, British Columbia is crammed with information relating to credit unions on a wide range of subjects. The Credit Union Economics Group, of which NAFCU was a founding member, will lead a panel discussion on the economy and credit unions, with particular attention to regional variations and demographic trends. There will be multiple sessions on interest rate risk, security, and asset liability management. Other sessions include security issues from the credit union board's perspective, identity theft, Small Business Administration lending, anti-money laundering technology, credit cards, and e-marketing. Along the line of `best practices,' education sessions will include establishing relationships, media relations, succession planning, and community outreach. There will also be updates of what is going on in Washington and at NCUA. NAFCU had previously announced that the entertainment for the conference would include well-known actor Bill Cosby. Additionally, Jack Canfield of "Chicken Soup for the Soul" fame is on the agenda, as is former Office of Management and Budget Director (January 2001-June 2003) Mitchell E. Daniels.
