MADISON, Wis. - With this year's conference theme "NYIB University - Making the Grade with Youth", the National Youth Involvement Board (NYIB) is looking for a few good "students". Packed with information and resources to help credit unions reach, capture, train, retain and grow their youth member segments, NYIB-U is billed as offering something for "freshmen" who are just coming onto the youth scene, and seasoned "upper classmen." Scheduled to run August 3-6, in Madison, Wisconsin conference "professors" will include the following: Jeff Rendel, Rising Above Enterprises; Van Nutt, Improvability; Filene Research Institute and kids in a live focus group; Bryan Sims, BRASS Media; Rose Evers, Education Specialist and CUDE, Royal Oakland Community CU; Kelly Schermerhorn, President, Harvest Federal Credit Union; and Ward Eames, National Theater for Children. In addition a special pre-conference workshop with Dr. Laurence Dean Martel, author of The Seven Secrets of Learning Revealed will help credit unions "Teach to the Teen Brain".
