Egan, New Hampshire CUs Receive Recognition in Congressional Record for Homeownership Efforts
WASHINGTON - House Financial Services Committee Ranking Member Barney Frank (D-Mass.) thanked the New Hampshire Credit Union League in the Congressional Record for their partnership with NeighborWorks and congratulated Dan Egan, president of the Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island Credit Union Leagues, on his work promoting homeownership. The resolution also noted NCUA's co-hosting of Board Member Debbie Matz' Partnering and Leadership Successes workshop on expanding affordable housing in New Hampshire last year. The partnership between the league and the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation resulted from the workshop. Thirty-two credit unions pledged a total of $35 million to establish a fund supporting affordable housing, counseling, and loan programs. The congressman noted a recent resolution by NRC to promote credit union activity as a result of Egan's work. "Mr. Egan very much deserves this recognition and as a tribute both to him and to the important work of the credit unions of New England, I ask that the resolution from the Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation be printed here," the Congressional Record read.
