According to a recent Best Practices study, leadership advisory groups emerged as the most effective initiative in attaining desired employee development program results. The study also finds that a mix of trainers, senior executives and human resources staffers works best in such a group. In general, leadership advisory groups should meet quarterly to set objectives and direction and be comprised of employees based on title and other factors such as interest in developing leaders, knowledge and credibility.
