WASHINGTON-The Independent Community Bankers of America recently announced the promotion of Dewite North to the position of chief information officer. In his new post, North is responsible for ICBA's business technology systems and infrastructure and those of the trade group's five subsidiaries. He has been with ICBA since 1999, initially working on payment system issues. His responsibilities steadily grew since that time. North has been previously employed at First Virginia Bank, George Mason Bank and CardSystems. He earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Tulane University and has completed a graduate-level electronic commerce certificate program at the University of Virginia. "Dewite brings extensive knowledge and understanding of ICBA's technology needs to the role of CIO. His experience will ensure that ICBA continues to innovate on a wide range of exciting technology fronts to the benefit of the ICBA and its members," ICBA President and CEO Ken Guenther said.
