SOPOT, Poland - The National Association of Cooperative Savings and Credit Unions (NACSCU) in Poland has become the first financial institution organization in the country to qualify for the ISO 9001 certificate. The International Standards Organization (ISO) 9000 standard and its related standards, 9001 and 14,000, provide organizations with a set way of establishing systems to ensure quality control. Organizations that pass the program are allowed to display the ISO symbol. NACSCU ISO 9001 vertification process was overseen by the Dutch company KEMA, an independent company whose activities focus on providing customers with solutions to technical problems. Dariusz Kijanka, spokesman for NACSCU said, "The recognition for the National Association with the extension of the Certificate confirms its effectiveness in managing and supervising its member credit unions. The Certificate also proves NACSCU's capacity to ensure safety and soundness of credit union operations and to meet their needs and expectations in terms of quality of services."
