MADISON, Wis. - CUNA Network Services turned one year old this past July. The CUNA subsidiary was formed by the combination of the e-commerce assets of CUNA Strategic Services Inc. and Sunstar IP Communications. "When we began CUNA Network Services a year ago, we were determined to create a dynamic, innovative organization that could quickly respond to the technology needs of credit unions," said John Hobko, president of CUNA Network Services. "I think we have done that." Hobko noted that in July 2001, CUNA Network Services' main product offerings were Virtual Private Network (VPN), Internet Access, Web Site hosting and CU Build-a-Site Web site development services, along with Web content offerings. Since then, the organization has added secure network services; Web Site compliance; Internet banking; online bill payment; and development of SafeID smart card technology.
