MADISON, Wis. – The Texas Credit Union League's Texas/Mexico Credit Union Relations program and the Michigan Credit Union League's Joint Advertising Board campaign were honored with Best of Show awards at CUNA's 2001 Pro and Blockbuster Awards ceremony. Judges selected TCUL's Texas/ Mexico Credit Union Relations program as Best of Show in the Pro competition because "it illustrates how league public relations can embrace and enhance the larger opportunities beckoning both the United States and international credit union movements." In addition the judges said, "The league has demonstrated its commitment to worldwide credit union development and done a great deal to foster cooperation across national borders." As for MCUL's Joint Advertising Board campaign, it received Best of Show in the Blockbuster competition for showing "exceptional creativity and professionalism in the design and execution of a campaign benefiting every one of the states more than 450 credit unions." According to the judges, "program materials make a compelling case for Michigan credit unions to participate in the statewide campaign, and results achieved indicate that the program more than met its target goals." The Pro & Blockbuster Awards ceremony is held in conjunction with the American Association of Credit Union League's Communication & Marketing Conference. Blockbuster Awards are presented for the best league advertising programs. Pro Awards go to the best league publications and public relations programs.
