MADISON, Wis. - The Ohio Credit Union League, WOCCU (World Council of Credit Unions)-Bulgaria, and WOCCU signed a partnership agreement at the Ohio Credit Union System's recent annual meeting and conference. The partnership will support several efforts including advocating for credit unions before elected officials in Ohio and Bulgaria; promoting cooperative principles to members, the general public, media and governing bodies; and exchanging information about operating, marketing and promotion. The Bulgarian kasa (credit union) system serves an estimated 300,000 to 500,000 members, and provides credit to approximately 375,000 microenterprises.
