RICHMOND, Va. - The board of directors of the Credit Union Service Company of Virginia, LLC has voted to surcharge at its ATMs beginning Oct. 1, 2000. The decision, said the Virginia Credit Union League, was based on the recent increase in the ATM volume of non-credit union cardholders using the terminals to avoid surcharge fees assessed by other financials' ATMs. Credit Union Service Company will also be adding the CU Here program, a voluntary, no surcharge program that's part of the Credit Union 24 ATM network. That will be effective mid-September. ATM cardholding members of credit unions that belong to CU Here will be able to complete transactions surcharge-free at any ATM owned by a CU Here-credit union member.
