Anchorage, Alaska - Taking its staff back to school, Alaska USA Federal Credit Union has launched a new corporate education program, Alaska USA University. "The credit union's members benefit from knowledgeable , service -oriented and efficient employees," said William Eckhardt, Alaska USA FCU president. "Alaska University provides employees with greater opportunities to grow and develop within their career fields. The corporate university concept will allow us to provide a stronger and more comprehensive training network through out the Alaska USA system." Covering topics ranging from orientation experiences for new employees to general skills and computer and technology-related courses, Alaska USA University offers more than 350 courses. According to Eckhardt, coursework flexibility is the key to the program's success. Employees can personalize their learning experience by choosing from a variety of settings including classrooms; seminars; computer labs; self-study via the Internet and the Alaska USA Intranet and even through external organizations. Managed and developed by the Corporate Education Department, Alaska USA University is headed by Ed Lindquist, vice president of corporate education. Also assigned to the department is T.
