DALLAS - Giving away cash and prizes isn't just for game shows. Web firms have been using the give-away concept to try and drum up interest in their Web sites. c2Future.com, the publisher of eMoneyDigest, a Web-based personal financial lifestyle publication specifically for credit unions, recently gave away a fully-equipped 2000 Ford Explorer to Kathrin Wheeler, a member of Fort Bliss FCU, El Paso, Texas. Wheeler's name was selected at random from among eMoney Digest readers who participated in one of the the magazine's weekly quizzes. The new truck came at a particularly opportune time for Wheeler as her previous car had just recently broken down, forcing her and her husband to share one car. In fact, the couple was just set to engage it the car buying process when the winning phone call came through. "This is thrilling for me, and I'm delighted to be the winner. eMoney Digest is a great magazine, and I would have been reading it even without the contest. This is just very special and I'm grateful," said Wheeler. "Out of all the credit unions around the country which are partnering with c2future.com, to have the winner come from here is really a treat," said Kerry Stacy, vice president of E-Branch at Fort Bliss FCU.
