Texans CU sponsors Wildflower Festival

RICHARDSON, Texas-It's spring, so the time is right for the Richardson Wildflower Arts and Music Festival. For the third consecutive year, Texans Credit Union will sponsor Richardson's most widely recognized annual event. The Wildflower Arts and Music festival helps support local civic organizations that work to improve Richardson's image and quality of life. The festival, which attracts new people to the city, also provides a boost to Richardson's economy. "Richardson is our home, and it's our job to help take care of it," said Texans CU president and CEO Jim Bryan. And Texans CU certainly takes its job seriously. Beyond the monetary support, Texans CU will provide nearly 150 volunteers. These volunteers will help with various assignments including selling tickets and coordinating the efforts of other volunteer groups. In addition, for festival goers convenience, two ATMs have been placed on the grounds and festival organizers will be permitted to use one of Texans CU's branch offices to house and safely count the money generated through ticket and food sales. "We look at the sponsorship of this event as a win-win situation," said Bryan. "This festival promotes economic growth and supports local charitable organizations and since the festival practically takes place in our backyard, it establishes our presence in the community as well." The Richardson Wildflower Arts and Music Festival will run from April 28 through April 30. Texans CU has $1 billion in assets and serves more than 135,000 members. -mbourjolly@cutimes.com
