America's Credit Unions came off with five easy winners in five Republican primaries in Alabama and Oklahoma Tuesday.

Two of the candidates were running for open Senate seats. The other three were House incumbents running for re-election.

None of the primaries were close, and all five are favorites in the Nov. 3 general election. The Cook Political Report rated as solidly Republican the Alabama Senate race and each of the four Oklahoma seats with an AmCU endorsement.

AmCU backed these five winners:

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore, who won in the Republican primary in Alabama for the open U.S. Senate seat that had been held by Tommy Tuberville, who is running for governor. Moore, who is backed by Trump, defeated political newcomer and former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson. He is on the House Agriculture and Judiciary committees.

"Electing a pro-credit union Congress is critical to the credit union movement and is the central mission of America's Credit Unions PAC," Trey Hawkins, AmCU's head of political affairs, said. "With this additional group of champions advancing, our success is a testament to the strength of credit unions. Credit unions continue to showcase the power of cooperative finance in districts across the country."

"America's Credit Unions PAC is committed to ensuring elected officials recognize and understand the credit union difference," he said.
