WEST
The $3.5 billion, Boulder, Colo.-based Elevations Credit Union promoted Shelley Ormsby as chief lending officer. In her new role, she will lead the organization's lending strategy and oversee mortgage, consumer and commercial banking. Ormsby is also responsible for driving responsible growth across the credit union's lending portfolio while delivering strong value to members and supporting long-term financial sustainability. Ormsby brings more than 25 years of experience in financial services with deep expertise in lending, risk management and regulatory compliance. She most recently served as legal counsel and compliance officer at Elevations and provided strategic guidance across the organization. Prior to joining Elevations, Ormsby held senior leadership roles at FirstBank and Centennial Lending. She holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.

The $387 million, Klamath Falls, Ore.-based Sage Credit Union hired Rich Christensen into the newly-created position of COO. Christensen brings over 40 years of progressive leadership experience across community banks, regional banks and credit unions. Throughout his career, his accomplishments have included strengthening "people-first" cultures, driving core deposit growth, modernizing operations and technology, and partnering effectively with internal teams, members, communities and stakeholders alike. Christensen most recently served as EVP/chief banking officer for Mission Valley Bank. He's also served in various executive leadership roles at Santa Barbara Bank & Trust, San Diego National Bank, First Foundation Bank and CUNA Mutual Group. In addition, Christensen has served as a faculty member at The Pacific Coast Banking School for the past 23 years.

MIDWEST
The $218 million, Merrillville, Ind.-based U S Federal Credit Union promoted Dan Neiman from vice president of credit and underwriting to EVP. In his new role, Neiman will continue leading key areas of the credit union's day-to-day operations, including retail and lending, while working closely with President/CEO Nicole Smith to help execute organizational priorities, strengthen cross-functional alignment and support the credit union's long-term strategic vision. His role will continue to focus on operational excellence, member experience and ensuring the organization remains well-positioned to meet the evolving needs of members across all generations.

The $457 million, Oswego, Ill.-based Earthmover Credit Union announced Jamal Scott recently joined its board of directors. Scott is currently the vice president of undergraduate education and dean of the Undergraduate College at National Louis University in Chicago. Scott's lengthy career in higher education has focused on ensuring student success, removing barriers to education and revitalizing supportive programs and resources. He improved student outcomes in a number of crucial areas, including first-year retention. Scott holds a master's in public administration from the Illinois Institute of Technology and an Ed.D. in organizational leadership from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. In July, he will take over as president of Highland Community College in Freeport, Ill. Scott currently serves as secretary on the Board of Trustees for the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, Ill. He previously served as chair for the Board of Directors at the Aurora Regional Chamber of Commerce and on the Board of Directors for the Aurora Convention Visitors Bureau, where he was appointed by the City of Aurora, Ill.

LEAGUES
The Illinois Credit Union League announced that after more than 35 years of service to the Illinois credit union system, Melanie Murphy has retired from her role as executive director of the Illinois Credit Union Foundation. Since joining the Illinois Credit Union League in 1990, Murphy has played a pivotal role in shaping programs and initiatives that strengthen credit unions, support community financial education and cultivate future leaders. Her work with Young Professionals programs and initiatives has launched the careers of many credit union professionals who continue to be active leaders in the state today. She also guided scholarships, grants and educational programs that promote financial well-being across Illinois. Murphy has also served nationally, including leadership roles with the National Credit Union Foundation and the State Credit Union Foundation Network. In addition, she was named a 2020 Credit Union Rock Star.

Sandy Ramage-Kallal will succeed Murphy as executive director. Ramage-Kallal currently serves as senior director of member resources at the Illinois Credit Union League and brings more than a decade of experience from previous roles at 1st MidAmerica Credit Union ($1 billion, Bethalto, Ill.), where she worked as a teller, community relations representative, training and development manager, and project manager. She has also been an active volunteer with the Burnett Chapter Board, served on ICUL's YPA committee and represented Illinois as a GAC Crasher.
In other league foundation news, the CrossState Credit Union Foundation announced it has appointed Michael Powers, president/CEO of the $494 million, Parsippany, N.J.-based Garden Savings Federal Credit Union, as board chair for the Foundation.
