WSECU announced it is pairing Seattle sports broadcasters Rick Rizzs and Steve Raible in a new marketing campaign tied to charitable giving during the Seattle Mariners season.
The campaign marks the first time the two longtime broadcasters have worked together in a promotional partnership, according to the Olympia, Wash.-based WSECU. The ad series features the pair discussing WSECU products, including cash back checking accounts, and the credit union's five-year streak on the Forbes' Best Credit Unions list in Washington.
The campaign also includes WSECU's "Walks in the Park" program, which donates $200 to the Washington State Parks Foundation for every walk issued by the Seattle Mariners during home games. As of May 5, the program had generated $17,500 in donations tied to 88 home walks. The total grew following a recent four-game series between the Mariners and Astros in which Seattle players drew 27 walks. According to the credit union, this comes at a time when parks are facing funding cuts.

"At the end of the day, we're fans of these teams and we're fans of this state," Elizabeth Nuss, senior manager for brand with WSECU's marketing department, said. "When all of this comes together, it creates something we're proud to stand behind as WSECU and something everyone can cheer about."
WSECU said the sports partnerships are designed to connect the credit union with local communities and support public spaces across Washington State.
"As AI-generated content continues to rise, consumers are craving authenticity," ReBecca Looney, senior marketing executive for Bonneville Media, the Mariners' radio broadcast partner, said. "This makes the combination of sports marketing and influencer messaging even more powerful."
Founded in 1957, WSECU has more than 315,000 members, 25 branches and $5.4 billion in assets. It commits 4% of its annual net income to invest back into the communities it serves through partnerships with education and other nonprofit institutions, the credit union said.
