Texas Trust Credit Union is investing $20 million in renovations of the office tower it bought more than a year ago for its new headquarters.
Texas Trust ($2.1 billion in assets, 136,598 members) announced in January 2025 that it had bought the 124,000-square-foot Skymark Tower in Arlington, between Dallas and Fort Worth, for $8.7 million and planned to moved its headquarters there later in 2025.
On Thursday, Texas Trust told CU Times it had moved some of the 140 headquarters employees into one floor of the building, but will move the rest in after renovations are complete in early 2027.
It also said a significant portion of the $20 million has been used to update the HVAC system and elevators, and that the project will upgrade the building to a "Class A" office space.
Texas Trust now leases 40% of the building and will continue leasing that space. The credit union will occupy the remaining 75,000 square feet.

The credit union's lending department has already moved into the fourth floor, where renovations are complete. The rest of its headquarters employees are continuing to work at a building it purchased in 2012, which is 10 miles southwest of Skymark Tower.
Exterior improvements are being made to the roof, which has an iconic pyramid structure on top. The roof has been replaced and the pyramid is being transformed from red to the Texas Trust branded blue, which will glow at night. There are also 1,000 windows on the building that are being replaced and will be tinted blue.
The main lobby on the first floor will also be redone with white and blue terrazzo and an updated ceiling. Texas Trust said it is also evaluating adding a branch for members there.
NCUA data pulled from Callahan's Peer Suite showed Texas Trust earned $12.6 million last year, or a return of 0.62% on its average assets.
