The Defense Credit Union Council has added artificial intelligence lending provider Scienaptic AI to its Premier Circle Program, expanding the tools available to credit unions serving military and veteran communities.
The Premier Circle Program is designed to build collaborations between DCUC and industry service providers offering products and services to its member credit unions, Anthony Hernandez, DCUC's president/CEO and a retired U.S. Air Force colonel, said.
Scienaptic AI, founded in 2014, provides an AI-based credit decisioning platform used by credit unions to automate lending decisions, speed approvals, and support regulatory and fair-lending compliance. The platform is used by more than 150 lenders, according to Scienaptic AI.
Members of military communities often experience frequent relocations, deployments and other circumstances that can affect their credit histories, Scienaptic said, adding that its AI-based platform is designed to help credit unions evaluate borrowers using additional data beyond traditional credit information so they can assess members based on a fuller financial picture.

Through the program, Scienaptic AI will have the opportunity to share its products, services and perspective on industry challenges with DCUC member credit unions, Hernandez said.
DCUC represents credit unions that collectively serve more than 143 million members nationwide. Founded in 1963 to advocate for credit unions on military installations, the organization now represents credit unions serving military and civilian communities across the country.
