The NCUA has liquidated Copper & Glass Federal Credit Union in Glassport, Pa., transferring its assets, loans and member accounts to OMEGA Federal Credit Union.

The move, announced Wednesday, followed an NCUA determination that Copper & Glass was insolvent and had no viable path to recovery. At the time of closure, the credit union served approximately 1,225 members and held $5.3 million in assets.

According to a CU Times analysis, Cooper & Glass lost $3.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2025, resulting in an ROA of -237.67%.

OMEGA, based in Wexford, Pa., immediately assumed the failed institution's operations. The acquiring credit union has 15,290 members and $176.8 million in assets, according to its most recent Call Report.

NCUA officials said members will experience no disruption in service, and all deposits remain protected by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund. The fund insures individual accounts up to $250,000, with separate coverage for joint and certain retirement accounts.

Copper & Glass, chartered in 1938, served a mix of occupational and community-based members in Allegheny County.

The NCUA Board has appointed itself as liquidating agent and is requiring creditors to submit claims by July 10, 2026, or risk forfeiting their rights.
