The $1.1 billion, Lansing, Mich.-based LAFCU announced two promotions.
Kim Hengsbach was promoted to assistant collections manager. Hengsbach has been with LAFCU for more than 17 years and advanced from her previous role as collector. In her new position, she supports efforts to preserve the credit union's assets by helping oversee delinquent accounts, charge-offs and fraud losses. Prior to joining LAFCU, Hengsbach spent several years as a senior collector at another Lansing-based credit union. Throughout her career in collections, she has developed extensive experience in bankruptcy, repossessions, foreclosures, garnishments and levies. Her background at LAFCU also includes serving as a departmental trainer.

Morgan Pray was promoted to vice president of ATM/ITM operations. In her new role, Pray will oversee the strategic direction, performance and growth of LAFCU's ATM and interactive teller machine network, ensuring operational efficiency while enhancing member access and service delivery. Pray began her career with LAFCU in 2014 as a teller and has steadily advanced through the organization, earning seven promotions over the past 12 years. She was promoted to senior member service representative in 2016 before becoming assistant branch manager of the West Lansing, Mich., branch in January 2020. Later that year, she was promoted to assistant manager of the Contact Center, followed by branch manager of the Contact Center in September 2021. In October 2021, Pray was promoted to assistant vice president of operations and, in May 2022, to assistant vice president of ATM/ITM operations prior to this most recent promotion. Before joining LAFCU, she worked in retail and served as a teller at Citizens Bank and Chemical Bank.

The $952 million, Indianapolis-based Financial Center hired Aaron Craig as vice president of lending. In his new role, Craig will provide leadership across the credit union's lending operations, including indirect lending, underwriting, consumer loan processing and first mortgage.
Craig brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, with deep expertise in mortgage, consumer and indirect lending. Most recently, he served as vice president of mortgage and indirect sales at Georgia's Own Credit Union ($4.3 billion, Atlanta). Prior to his most recent role, Craig served as director of mortgage and indirect sales at Georgia's Own and spent more than a decade with Five Star Credit Union ($1.2 billion, Dothan, Ala.) in several leadership positions, including director of mortgage lending and collections. He holds an MBA from Troy University in Troy, Ala.

SOUTH
The $665 million, Fort Bragg, N.C.-based Fort Bragg Federal Credit Union announced one new hire and two promotions.
Theresa Perry was hired as community relations manager. In her new role, she will lead community engagement efforts and strengthen FBFCU's presence throughout the counties it serves. A retired educator with 31 years in North Carolina's Cumberland County School System, Perry brings more than 20 years of executive leadership experience, along with a strong background in public speaking, community relations and customer service.

Abby Spencer was promoted to interim marketing manager from her previous role as marketing and brand ambassador. In her new role, she will continue advancing marketing initiatives while stepping into a leadership role within the department. Spencer brings five years of experience in retail marketing and management, with a specialization in graphic design. She joined FBFCU in April 2025.

Alex Terry was promoted to SVP of information systems. In his new role, he will continue to lead innovation and enhance the effectiveness of the credit union's technology operations. Terry began his career with FBFCU in 1988 as a computer operator and was promoted to data processing supervisor the following year, later advancing to vice president of information systems in 1998.

Fernando Ortega, EVP and chief information officer for the $4.5 billion, El Paso, Texas-based GECU, was recognized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) with the Patriot Award, a Department of War award honoring leaders who support employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. The Patriot Award recognizes the individual supervisor of an employee currently serving in the Guard or Reserve who provides exceptional support to the military service member and their family. Ortega is a U.S. Air Force Veteran with more than 20 years of experience in the credit union industry. In addition, GECU received the Above & Beyond Award, which recognizes employers that go the extra mile in supporting Guard and Reserve military service members beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act through flexible policies, leadership support and a culture that values military service. Representatives from ESGR joined GECU leadership and Navy Reserves leadership to present the awards during a special recognition ceremony at the GECU Operations Center.
