Craig Carpenter, SVP of lending and business banking for the $2.8 billion, Springfield, Ore.-based SELCO Community Credit Union, will retire following 20 years with SELCO and four decades in the financial services industry. Carpenter joined SELCO in 2003, establishing SELCO's Commercial Lending & Business Banking division. In his current role, he leads the credit union's consumer lending, commercial and business banking, and mortgage service areas while helping guide strategic planning and organizational performance across the institution. At various times throughout his career, he has overseen SELCO's investment and retirement services, insurance services, marketing, business development and community involvement teams. Before joining SELCO, Carpenter served as a commercial loan officer and branch manager at Washington Mutual Bank in Springfield. Earlier in his career, he held the positions of credit administration officer and branch manager at West One Bank in Boise, Idaho and Junction City, Ore., and also built extensive expertise in agricultural, commercial and consumer lending as a commercial loan officer at West One Bank in Mountain Home, Idaho. He also served on the Springfield Chamber Gateway Development Committee, Junction City Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Willamette Valley Prison Advisory Committee. In addition, he has served as the longtime chair of SELCO's Operations & Marketing Committee. Carpenter's last day at SELCO will be April 3.

The $5.4 billion, Olympia, Wash.-based WSECU announced one promotion and one new hire.

Lauren Lopp was promoted to vice president of people and culture services. In her new role, Lopp oversees compensation and benefits, culture and diversity, administrative services and recruitment, among other duties. Lopp previously served as the director of diversity and culture with WSECU and has worked with the credit union for 18 years.

Jeremy Wiersma was hired as vice president of business lending. In his new role, Wiersma oversees Commercial Lending Sales, Commercial Credit Administration and Commercial Servicing, and Small Business. He previously served as vice president of business services at iQ Credit Union ($2.1 billion, Vancouver, Wash.).

Kristin Crellin, SVP of community and membership development at the $35.3 billion, Tustin, Calif.-based SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union, was named a 2026 Vision & Visionaries Cal State Fullerton (CSUF) Distinguished Alumni, the university's highest honor recognizing alumni and community leaders for their professional achievement and service. Crellin was honored Feb. 28 at CSUF's Vision & Visionaries ceremony. In her 36th year with the credit union, Crellin has built a career focused on supporting California's educational community. She leads school and community relations, business development and membership initiatives and has been instrumental in advancing innovative products and services that directly support educators and school employees. Crellin also serves as president of the Education Foundation for California Schools, the credit union's nonprofit organization she helped establish to support education programs throughout California. Crellin's path to leadership began at SchoolsFirst in a part-time role as secretary to the president. She went on to serve in multiple positions across the organization, including coordinating ATM placements throughout the community. Crellin serves on the CSUF Philanthropic Board of Governors and is chair of the CSU Foundation Board of Governors. She has also served as president of the CSUF Alumni Association and has represented CSUF on the CSU Alumni Council.

The $8 billion, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Hudson Valley Credit Union announced two new hires and one promotion.

Eric Barrett was hired as vice president, director of insights. In his new role, Barrett is responsible for shaping and implementing an enterprise-wide strategy for insight-driven growth. He also develops the capabilities, infrastructure and culture required to use data for strategic purposes across the organization. In his most recent role, Barrett served as assistant vice president of business intelligence at Rhinebeck Bank, where he modernized the organization's analytics and reporting environment through enterprise dashboarding, Power BI implementation and advanced Customer Relationship Management (CRM) development.

Marly Beste was hired as vice president, director of marketing strategy. In her new role, Beste defines the north star of enterprise-wide marketing initiatives to engage audiences across HVCU's channels. She champions segmentation, member journeys and data-driven strategies tailored to maximize the impact of the cooperative's largest investments. Before joining HVCU, Beste served as copy director at Monigle, a brand experience agency.

Etan Balogh-Kerner was promoted to officer, New Paltz Branch manager. In his new role, Balogh-Kerner oversees operations to drive membership acquisitions through HVCU's needs-based interaction model (CARE) to deepen and retain member relationships. Additionally, he provides consistent development to staff, setting clear goals, objectives and expectations for the branch.

The $2.9 billion, Rome, N.Y.-based AmeriCU Credit Union hired Randy Barnard II as financial center manager at the Liverpool Financial Center located at 7474 Oswego Road in Liverpool, N.Y. He brings more than 20 years of experience in the banking industry, having begun his career in banking as a teller and quickly advancing into leadership roles. Over the years, he gained extensive branch management experience, including helping launch a new financial center. He previously served on the Board of Directors for the Cicero Plank Road Chamber of Commerce and continues to support the organization as its treasurer.
