Vibe Credit Union has launched the Good Vibes Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public charity designed to continue its commitment to the people, programs and neighborhoods of Southeast Michigan.
The creation of the foundation allows Vibe to partner directly with organizations making the biggest impact in the community, the credit union said. As a member-owned cooperative, Vibe already reinvests earnings locally. The Good Vibes Foundation extends this cooperative model beyond banking, transforming local success into direct community support and providing structure for giving through grants.

"The concept of elevating community and creating opportunity has been at the heart of our work at Vibe Credit Union," Stephanie Leahy, vice president of community impact at Vibe and executive director of the Good Vibes Foundation, said. "The Good Vibes Foundation will provide a platform to make an even more significant impact and invest in the essential building blocks that allow communities to grow with dignity and stability."
The grant process was created to be straightforward, reducing barriers for nonprofits to access funding. Funding priority will be given to organizations that are improving lives and driving progress in the areas of financial education, financial inclusion and community betterment. The foundation has created a straightforward grant process to reduce barriers for nonprofits to access funding. The foundation plans to award grants to nonprofits within proximity of Vibe's branch network to ensure resources directly benefit the local community.

The first grant cycle will launch in spring 2026. Grant requests will be submitted through an online application form on Vibe's website. To qualify, the organization must serve the community within proximity of a Vibe branch; meet one or more of the initiatives of financial education, financial inclusion and community betterment; and showcase how the grant will support long-term financial stability. Grant applications will be reviewed by the board and determined by community need/urgency of funding, evaluation methods/reporting capabilities for measurable outcomes, strength of leadership needed for execution, and organization stability and sustainability.
Vibe Credit Union serves more 74,000 members across Southeast Michigan and has $1.35 billion in assets.
