SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union in Tustin, Calif., contributed more than $3.3 million in 2025 through corporate donations and fundraising to support Children's Miracle Network hospitals, benefiting Children's Hospital Los Angeles, Rady Children's Health and UC Davis Children's Hospital.

"At SchoolsFirst FCU, supporting children's hospitals isn't just a tradition – it's part of who we are," SchoolsFirst President/CEO Bill Cheney said. "Our members and team members consistently step up for the communities where they live and work. By joining credit unions nationwide in supporting Children's Miracle Network, we're making a real difference for families when they need it most."

SchoolsFirst supports CMN through partnerships with regional children's hospitals statewide. The credit union also plays an active role in fundraising initiatives sponsored by Credit Unions for Kids.

The credit union raises approximately $300,000 each year through its events and fundraising campaigns in support of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In 2025, the credit union also contributed an additional $3 million to Rady Children's Health (formerly Children's Hospital of Orange County) in support of the hospital's new nine-story ambulatory tower in the City of Orange.

SchoolsFirst takes part in a range of events and campaigns each year across California in support of Children's Miracle Network and its member hospitals, including the following in 2025:

Children's Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA)

For Children's Hospital Los Angeles, SchoolsFirst sponsored the Giving Tuesday Radiothon with KOST 103.5 FM to encourage community support for CHLA on the Global Day of Giving. The credit union also joined the annual CHLA Walk & Play L.A. event and hosted an in-branch spring fundraising campaign where members received a thank you gift for donating.

In San Diego, as a sponsor of the Rady Children's Hospital Ice Rink, SchoolsFirst provided school employees with complimentary ice skating at the Rady Children's Ice Rink.

UC Davis Children's Hospital

In Northern California, SchoolsFirst joined KNCI 105.1 FM's first Country Cares for Kids Radiothon, donating matching funds to support pediatric care at UC Davis Children's Hospital. The credit union also sponsored Sacramento's annual SACTOWN Run and supported the UC Davis Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with book donations for families.

Children's Miracle Network

SchoolsFirst supported West Coast CU4Kids events including the CU4Kids Wine Auction and the CU4Kids Northwest Classic golf tournament.
