The $4.1 billion, Spokane Valley, Wash.-based Numerica Credit Union hired Chris Mantie as SVP of retail. In his new role, Mantie will oversee retail operations for Numerica’s 22 branches across Spokane, North Idaho, the Tri-Cities and Wenatchee. He will also guide retail strategies, ensure operational excellence and support teams in delivering exceptional service to members across the region. Mantie brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial industry. He most recently served as vice president of retail sales and service at First Tech Federal Credit Union ($16.8 billion, San Jose, Calif.), where over the past five years, he led transformative retail strategies and championed a culture of service excellence.
MIDWEST
The $1.1 billion, Lansing, Mich.-based LAFCU announced one rehire, one new hire and one promotion.
Jayson Haralson was rehired by LAFCU as a security engineer after previously serving as an IT specialist in 2023. In his new role, he will administer, secure and manage the credit union’s network infrastructure. He brings experience as a computer network support specialist and system administrator for companies in Illinois. He also served part-time with the U.S. Air Force for more than six years, through October 2025, in the traffic management office, supporting transportation operations and ensuring compliance with military regulations. Haralson holds a master’s degree in science from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti.

De’Jon Harris was hired as a technology specialist. In his new role, Harris provides technical guidance in project and data management, help desk support and departmental communications. He previously worked as a security supervisor for Cranbrook Educational Community in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., where he oversaw safety operations, monitored IP-based security systems and managed staff access. Earlier in his career, he served with the U.S. Air Force as a civil base engineer in Montgomery, Alabama. Harris holds CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications from the Computing Technology Industry Association, as well as multiple IBM certifications in IT and cybersecurity. He also completed the School of Engineering and Management at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Dana Reynolds was promoted to program and tech support specialist. She most recently served as a senior member service representative. In her new role, she provides technical support for LAFCU’s software systems, assists in troubleshooting and resolves issues reported by end users. She also collaborates with cross-functional teams to implement fixes, enhance system functionality and ensure the efficient operation of software systems. Reynolds previously served as compliance officer at the W Tax Group in Southfield, Mich., and as a self-defense facilitator at Michigan State University.

CUES announced three individual award winners.
Joseph Hearn, president/CEO for the $3.5 billion, Dubuque, Iowa-based Dupaco Community Credit Union, was honored as the CUES Outstanding Chief Executive. This award recognizes outstanding leaders at the CEO level who display professional achievement, support employee motivation and are dedicated to their community. Under Hearn’s leadership, Dupaco has more than doubled its membership, become a designated U.S. Treasury Certified Development Financial Institution and launched ‘Invest in You,’ an internal initiative that resulted in an average of 33 hours of dedicated training for each Dupaco employee.

Dr. Rick Will, board chair for the $1.2 billion, Tampa, Fla.-based USF Credit Union, was honored with the CUES Distinguished Director Award. This award honors a board or committee member whose achievements have strengthened their credit union. As chairperson, Dr. Will has strengthened the USF CU board through active participation, thoughtful governance and by encouraging strategic dialogue among his peers. Beyond USF CU, he champions the cooperative difference to elevate industry dialogue.

Charles E. (Chuck) Fagan III, president/CEO of Velera in St. Petersburg, Fla., was honored as a CUES Hall of Fame Inductee. Fagan is recognized for his transformative leadership, dedication to developing industry talent and innovation, and influential advocacy as a community leader. As president/CEO of Velera, Fagan has guided strategic direction to deliver exceptional results for owner credit unions. During his tenure as CUES CEO, he advanced leadership development and collaboration across the industry, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to strengthen credit union executives today.
