mergers and aquisitions
Christian Community Credit Union (CCCU) and AdelFi Credit Union have officially merged, creating the largest faith-based credit union in the United States, with $1.4 billion in assets. Effective Dec. 1, AdelFi now operates as “AdelFi, a division of Christian Community Credit Union,” marking a milestone merger of equals rooted in shared mission and biblical stewardship.
The combined organization brings together more than 125 years of Christ-centered financial services and will serve individuals, families, ministries, churches, Christian schools and nonprofit organizations nationwide. A unified brand launch under the AdelFi name is planned for mid-2026.
Blair Korschun, CEO of CCCU, will lead the merged credit union, while AdelFi Interim CEO Susan Rushing transitions into the role of chief risk officer. Both leaders emphasized that the merger is driven not by industry pressure but by a shared commitment to “Kingdom impact.”
“This merger is a powerful reflection of what can happen when two faith-based institutions come together in unity,” Korschun said. “We are creating a stronger, more resilient credit union that can serve our members and ministry partners more effectively than ever before.”
Members of both credit unions will continue accessing their current accounts and services without interruption during the transition. The organizations also highlighted expanded digital tools, increased service capabilities and enhanced deposit protection through American Share Insurance, which provides broader coverage than standard federal insurance.
Leaders said the merger represents a growing trend in values-based finance, prioritizing faith, purpose and community over profit.
“Our goal isn’t just to grow larger,” Korschun said. “It’s to grow deeper in our commitment to biblical generosity and faithful stewardship.”
