Safe Harbor, the fintech company credited with pioneering compliant cannabis banking in the U.S., announced Tuesday the launch of what it called the cannabis industry’s first fully integrated financial solutions platform, a move designed to help operators “bank, borrow, operate and grow” amid ongoing regulatory, tax and capital challenges.

Founded more than a decade ago to help cannabis businesses access the traditional banking system, Safe Harbor is now expanding far beyond deposit accounts. The new platform combines banking services, lending, operational support and strategic finance tools under one brand, with offerings ranging from secure accounts and cash logistics to payroll, bookkeeping, merchant services, insurance and even fractional CFO advisory.

“This is a transformational moment for Safe Harbor and for the cannabis industry,” CEO Terry Mendez said. “We’ve expanded from a single-service provider into a multi-service financial platform that supports day-to-day operations as well as long-term planning and oversight. Our goal is to help operators navigate a challenging environment with clearer information and more reliable financial infrastructure as we move toward becoming the SoFi of cannabis.”

For cannabis businesses, access to affordable capital remains one of the industry’s most persistent problems. Safe Harbor’s expanded lending program, which includes more flexible financing options and support for financial institutions that want to resell cannabis-related loans, is designed to broaden capital channels in a sector long constrained by federal prohibition.

The expanded platform arrived during a year of significant growth for Safe Harbor, including a revamped leadership team, additional capital investment and the rollout of its Fully Managed Cannabis Banking Program for banks and credit unions.
