The $8 billion, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.-based Hudson Valley Credit Union announced five promotions and one appointment of a leader to a new role.

Christopher Cantele was promoted to SVP, head of wealth management. In his new role, Cantele establishes, sets and monitors the strategic direction for wealth management at HVCU. Alongside this, he oversees staff and daily operations of departments to ensure exceptional member service is maintained.

Steve Goodwine was promoted to SVP, head of the contact center. In his new role, Goodwine provides strategic leadership, and directs and monitors the daily operations of the contact center. In addition, he develops internal and external partnerships to meet departmental and organizational goals.

William Lionhood was promoted to SVP, senior director of strategy and transformation. In his new role, he drives HVCU’s strategic initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration and leading transformative projects. Alongside this, he aligns business strategies with corporate objectives and ensures successful execution of growth and transformation efforts.

Bianca West was promoted to SVP, head of brand and marketing. In her new role, West is responsible for setting the strategic vision, aligning marketing initiatives with organizational goals, and fostering cross-functional collaboration to drive brand growth, member engagement and community impact.

Robyn Williams was promoted to SVP, senior retail director. In her new role, Williams is responsible for the engagement and development of branch staff and the performance management of assigned branches in the region. In addition, she leads her team to deliver an exceptional member experience and achieve growth in deposits, loans and other solutions.

Christy Mitchell was appointed to the role of vice president, director of business effectiveness. In this capacity, Mitchell will leverage her leadership, coaching and change management skills, as well as her deep experience to accelerate progress as HVCU continues focus on driving efficiency and growing the business.

SOUTH

Cindy Pena Aleman

The $6.1 billion, Oklahoma City, Okla.-based Tinker Federal Credit Union hired Cindy Peña Aleman as assistant vice president and branch manager for its Southwest and Southwest Remote branches. In her new role, Peña Aleman oversees daily branch operations, member services and community involvement activities for both locations. She also works to ensure members receive excellent service, increase awareness of TFCU in the community and provide guidance to help members build financial stability. Peña Aleman got her start in the credit union industry in 2007 as a part-time employee while attending college. Since then, she has taken on a variety of roles, developing a strong foundation in member service and branch operations.

LEAGUES

The Indiana Credit Union League announced five award winners who were honored on Oct. 3 during the Gala & Awards Celebration at the League’s annual convention.

Rick Silvers, president/CEO of Centra Credit Union ($2.2 billion, Columbus, Ind.), received the Professional Achievement Award. Since becoming president/CEO in 2016, Silvers has led the organization through more than 67% organic asset growth. In addition, he championed innovative initiatives including Centra’s Value Creation Incentive Plan, which shares returns with members, team members and communities, and Onward, a mission-driven program providing free, bilingual financial education and counseling. He also worked closely with Indiana’s U.S. Congressional delegation on critical industry issues, served on the Indiana Board for Depositories. Silvers serves on the boards of the Columbus Regional Hospital Foundation and United Way of Bartholomew County.

David Brokaw, Board chairman of Hoosier United Credit Union ($35.6 million, Indianapolis), received the 2025 Leadership Achievement Award. Brokaw’s involvement with Hoosier United (formerly Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance Credit Union) began in 1990, and he has since served on the credit committee, supervisory committee and board of directors, including multiple terms as chairman. He retired as director of technology operations at Indiana Farm Bureau Insurance and taught strategic management in the MBA program at the University of Indianapolis, and is bilingual in Spanish.

Bryce Carden of Member Source Credit Union ($92.6 million, Merrillville, Ind.) received the 2025 Emerging Leadership Award. Carden began his career at the credit union as a marketing intern during his final semester of college. After graduation, he became marketing coordinator and later experience manager. Over the next several years, he completed CUNA Management School, earned certifications in compliance and financial counseling, and participated in the Indiana Credit Union League’s ignite program. He was then promoted to vice president of operations, and finally to EVP earlier this year. Carden serves on the board of the Griffith/Highland Chamber of Commerce and leads its Next Gen Leader Group.

Amy Reinhardt of Energy Plus Credit Union ($44.8 million, Indianapolis) received the 2025 Emerging Leadership Award. After beginning her career as a part-time teller, Reinhardt has steadily advanced into leadership roles. After moving into the lending department, she was promoted to loan officer and then lending manager. Today, she is a key member of the management team, contributing to project planning, execution and strategic initiatives. She also serves on the board of the Central Chapter of Credit Unions as events logistics coordinator.

Amy Wells of Everwise Credit Union ($5.5 billion, South Bend, Ind.) received the 2025 Emerging Leadership Award. Wells, an area manager, has held various roles at the credit union, including teller, teller supervisor, branch manager and Central Indiana recruiting and training specialist. She oversees five locations in central Indiana, as well as the retail management training team and virtual member services department. She is a 2023 recipient of Everwise’s David R. Sage Exemplary Leadership and Service Award, which honors employees who demonstrate outstanding service and leadership. She is also an alumna of the Indiana Credit Union League’s ignite program. Outside the credit union, Wells is chair of the philanthropic group Putnam County 100 Women Who Care and chair of Playworks Indiana, which helps schools and out-of-school programs create healthy play environments for children.
