Reseda Group, the wholly owned CUSO of MSU Federal Credit Union, announced Wednesday that it has partnered with the Salem, Ore.-based Maps Credit Union to acquire Pocketnest, a fast-growing fintech known for its AI-powered financial wellness platform.

The acquisition brought together two credit unions positioning themselves at the forefront of digital engagement, with a goal of rethinking how financial institutions guide members on their financial journeys.

“Together, we’re developing the future of banking, giving members easier access to financial insights and straighter paths to financial freedom — and Pocketnest’s technology is significant to our future innovation,” April Clobes, president/CEO of Reseda Group and MSUFCU, said.

Pocketnest uses behavioral science and generative AI to tailor guidance across ten key financial areas, including budgeting, debt management, retirement, estate planning and taxes, helping members build long-term financial confidence. The platform is marketed as a holistic coaching tool designed to encourage action, not just education.

Maps said it sees the investment as a major upgrade to the member experience. “Partnering with Reseda Group and Pocketnest allows us to prioritize our members’ financial well-being like never before,” Maps President/CEO Mark Zook said.

Pocketnest founder and CEO Jessica Willis said the move will help the fintech scale its vision of “hyper personalized AI banking” while continuing its scrappy growth culture. The nine-person team, she noted, has built the platform into one that increases member financial wellness by 57% on average and uncovers millions in cross-sell opportunities for credit unions.

Pocketnest is currently integrated with CU*Answers, Lumin Digital and Nymbus, with additional partnerships coming soon. The companies said the acquisition reflects a shift away from transactional-first digital banking toward technology that strengthens trust and long-term member relationships.
