NCUA headquarters, Washington, D.C. Credit/NCUA

The NCUA has rescheduled its public hearing on the agency’s 2026–2027 staff draft budget, moving the date up one day to Nov. 5, 2025, at 1 p.m. Eastern, according to a notice scheduled to be published Monday in the Federal Register.

The NCUA initially set the hearing for Nov. 6, but all other details and comment deadlines remain the same. The in-person session will take place at the agency’s headquarters in Alexandria, Va., and will be webcast live for remote participants.

The hearing will provide stakeholders, including credit unions, trade associations, and members of the public, an opportunity to offer input on the agency’s proposed $313.8 million 2026 budget, which reflects a 20.6% reduction from 2025 and includes major staff cuts and new technology investments.

Written comments may be submitted under docket number NCUA-2025-0543 via the Federal eRulemaking Portal. Participants wishing to speak must still request approval and submit written remarks by the previously announced deadlines.

The NCUA’s full budget proposal and related materials remain available on the agency’s website, and the board’s final approval vote is expected later this year.
