Ent Credit Union of Colorado Springs, Colo., is expanding into a new area of the state with a branch to open this fall.
Ent ($10.3 billion in assets, 576,089 members) announced Aug. 13 that it is building a branch expected to open in November in Alamosa, Colo., about 170 miles southwest of Colorado Springs.
The Alamosa Service Center represents the credit union’s expansion into the San Luis Valley, and it appointed Sonia Perez as its manager of retail development for the valley. Perez was formerly executive director of Alamosa’s Small Business Development Center.

NCUA data showed Ent had 60 branches and other locations in March, two more than a year earlier.

- Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union of Chattanooga, Tenn. ($2.9 billion in assets, 172,364 members) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 22 for its new North Georgia regional headquarters in Dalton, Ga., about 30 miles southeast of Chattanooga and once the nation’s center for carpet manufacturing. The 15,000-square-foot, two-story building will also serve as a full-service branch, and includes business services on the second floor. It had 27 branches in March, one more than a year earlier.
- Alabama One Credit Union of Tuscaloosa, Ala., 60 miles southwest of Birmingham ($1.4 billion in assets, 95,733 members) held an opening ceremony Aug. 14 for a new branch in Valley, Ala., 125 miles southeast of Birmingham and just west of West Point, Ga., across the Chattahoochee River. The branch is its first in Chambers County. Valley was created in 1980 from a group of textile mill villages, while West Point was the headquarters of the former WestPoint Pepperell, once one of the nation’s largest producers of sheets and other home furnishings. It had 29 branches in March, five more than a year earlier.
- EPIC Federal Credit Union of Metairie, La. ($166.9 million in assets, 14,227 members) announced Aug. 6 that it has begun building a branch to open next spring in Covington, La., 35 miles north of Metairie across the massive Lake Pontchartrain. The Northshore branch will be its first in St. Tammany Parish. NCUA data as of March 31 shows the credit union, formerly known as Greater New Orleans FCU, has a branch in New Orleans in Orleans Parish and two locations in Jefferson County: its Metairie headquarters and a branch in Harvey.
- WMCU Credit Union of Grand Rapids, Mich. ($448.1 million in assets, 31,117 members) held a groundbreaking ceremony Aug. 19 for a replacement branch to open next spring in Wyoming, Mich., tucked beside Grand Rapids. The branch will operate as Bloom Credit Union, which it acquired April 1. WMCU had 11 branches in March, three more than a year earlier, while Bloom had six branches, unchanged from a year earlier.
- Great Lakes Credit Union of Chicago ($1.5 billion in assets, 110,903 members) held a grand opening Aug. 21 for its new branch in Danville, Ill., 140 miles south of Chicago and 90 miles west of Indianapolis. It had 22 branches in March, seven more than a year earlier.
- Michigan State University Federal Credit Union of East Lansing ($8.2 billion in assets, 381,844 members) celebrated the openings of its Algonquin and McHenry branches in northern Illinois on Aug. 7. A news release from the credit union said the celebrations “recognize MSUFCU’s commitment to serving northern Illinois communities, following its acquisition of Algonquin State Bank and McHenry Savings Bank in 2024.” It now has five credit unions in the area. It had 34 offices in total in March, nine more than a year earlier.
- Endurance Federal Credit Union of Duncan, Okla., 80 miles south of Oklahoma City ($185.8 million in assets, 13,479 members) announced Aug. 19 that it has opened a virtual branch in Weatherford, Okla., 114 miles northwest of Duncan and 70 miles west of Oklahoma City. It had three branches in March, unchanged from a year earlier.
- AmeriCU Credit Union of Rome, N.Y., about 40 miles east of Syracuse ($2.8 billion in assets, 173,857 members) held a grand opening Aug. 13 for its new branch in Fulton, N.Y., 54 miles west of Rome and 30 miles northwest of Syracuse. It had 19 branches in March, unchanged from a year earlier.
- DuGood Federal Credit Union of Beaumont, Texas ($567.5 million in assets, 36,856 members) announced Aug. 12 that it has opened a new branch on the Lamar Institute of Technology (LIT) campus in Beaumont, 85 miles east of Houston. It had 13 branches in March, unchanged from a year earlier.
- Noble Credit Union of Fresno, Calif. ($1.3 billion in assets, 118,183 members) opened its new headquarters July 24 in Fresno, about seven miles northeast of the old office. It had nine branches in March, one fewer than a year earlier.
