McGraw-Hill Federal Credit Union has taken green to a new level.
The East Windsor, N.J., credit union has kicked off a solar energy awareness campaign, which includes an informational website, Facebook updates, and incorporating green energy advice into the credit union's monthly Financial Literacy Series seminars.
According to Shawn Gilfedder, president/CEO of the over $277 million credit union, the new website was as a resource where locals could learn more about sponsor McGraw-Hill Companies' new solar energy project, while providing practical facts and tips for those considering solar energy.
The renewable energy awareness campaign was sparked by the McGraw-Hill Companies' announcement to construct one of the nation's largest solar energy projects on its property in Hightstown, N.J.
The solar project will generate 14.1 megawatts of energy essentially offsetting the need for other energy sources to run its offices in East Windsor, including the company's growing data center.
