The $200 million Momentum Credit Union in Hamilton, Ontario, has deployed the new Acumen core banking solution from Fiserv Inc., the company and credit union said.

The new platform replaced two core processing solutions that had been in place since the incorporation of a second credit union last December, they said. Streamlined processing and scalability were cited in the selection.

“We simultaneously completed two system conversions with little impact to our 11,000-plus members – the implementation of Acumen was a success for our credit union,” said Malcolm Stoffman, the credit union's CEO.

Momentum also implemented other Fiserv solutions during the process, including audio response and accounting products.

Acumen was rolled out in late 2009 as a new, open platform based on Internet technologies. It has now been sold to about 25 Canadian and American credit unions.
