House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.), who is facing a stronger than expected reelection challenge, lent his campaign $200,000.

Frank, who has received extensive support from the PACs of CUNA and NAFCU, was outraised by his GOP challenger Sean Bielat in September $378,000 to $315,000. However, Frank has $1 million in his campaign account while Bielat, a business consultant and Marine, had $364,000, according to reports filed with the Federal Election Commission.

Frank's loan to his campaign was first reported by Politico.

He rarely has a difficult reelection race and in 2008 won with 68% of the vote.
